前天比大前天，昨天比前天，今天比昨天，我發現自己一天比一天消沉。我不能再消沉下去了。戴上卷曲的長假髮，我決定要到公司與我的老闆談一談。媽媽看著我整理儀容，她有感而發的說：「還是這麼好看，跟以前一樣，看不出來生病啊！」我看到她眼中閃過一絲欣慰的淚光，這些日子，她一直沉靜而固執的守在我的身邊，像顆堅定的磐石一樣。我們說笑著，試圖找回一些因生病而失落的東西，我們得著，而且更為豐盛。
熟悉的電梯、門廳，以及各樓層，公司的一切好像我從沒離開過一樣的讓人覺得安心。同事們看到我，有的驚訝，有的開心，有的有一絲無所適從的尷尬。他們的這一些反應，都讓我覺得有趣而顯得興味盎然。我的老闆熱情的接待我，並且爽快的同意我的請求，願意讓我試著每星期回公司上兩天班。一個年近五十的成功男人，靠著自己的雙手白手起家，人家都說他是台灣藥界的傳奇，而我相信，關於人生疾苦，他是比一般人要懂得多的。我的工作可能必須調整成比較不需要東奔西跑的簡單文案工作，他還好心的提議，若是化療期間擔心到辦公室受到感染，我還可以把工作帶回家做。我們算了算下次化療的時間，約定了開始上班的日子。
上帝在我眼前又鋪開了一條嶄新的路，在生命的旅程中，我駐足，我停留，我聆聽。看著街上快樂在交談、吃東西、笑著忙著的人群，我感到無比欣慰，因為，我又再度的迎向生命。
