原本令人期待的假期，卻因為斷斷續續不明原因的發燒而不能成行。整個人病懨懨的，所有的東西都失去了色彩，所有可口的食物都味如嚼蠟。我的假期，泡在台北幽暗的潮濕裡。
強效的抗生素沒能抑制住發燒，卻帶來了更多暈眩惡心的副作用。因為頭昏，在往醫院的路上，一個人從溼滑的地下道階梯上滾了下去，所幸沒有骨折，只是瘀起了幾處青紫。我掙扎著自己爬起來，然後慢慢的一步一步往醫院走去。在大部份的關鍵時刻，人能靠的往往也只有自己而已。
人在生病的時候，總是特別能看得見健康人的意氣風發與快樂。餐廳鄰座的幾個年輕女孩子，吱吱喳喳的討論著流行的各種事物，她們臉上有著興奮的光，藍色橘色的鮮豔衣服上飄過來適合夏末秋初的陣陣香氣。我在發熱，我在頭暈，我按著手上抽過血的棉花球，羨慕的看著別人揮霍快樂。
我眼睜睜的看著我的生命，被奪走這個，被奪走那個，現在連這可憐兮兮的小小假期快樂也將被奪走。撒旦尚且給人以誘惑的快樂，我的主你愛我，卻對我如此不公。
