Reading the comments of others, I can't help but notice that the same kind of wealthy douches still dominate SMU as the ones 25 years ago when I was a student. Oh. My. God. This school is, was, and apparently always will be primarily a holding pen where wealthy white families can send their kids without the danger of them being exposed to anyone or anything that might make them think.
Yes, that's harsh. Yes, you can get a good education at SMU. But truly, that is the ethos of the place. If you're not part of the above mentioned group, then you are a de facto second class citizen --that is, If you're white. If you're anything but white, you're invisible. Given the galaxy of colleges and universities to choose from in America, there is no reason to subject yourself to that kind of crap for four years. Anything you can get from SMU can be had elsewhere, probably for a better price and among a student body with a much lower jackass/douche factor.
