Good morning
It would be my pleasure to explain the lighting set-up. I wanted pretty much a silhouette, and I wanted to show the light source that created the silhouette, but when I tried to include the actual light, it was too hot. So I bounced the light from my light source off a mirror, and used a fog machine to create the shaft of light coming from the mirror.
The light coming from the mirror is actually the light illuminating her face. You need a dark background, and a way to block off all the stray light, eliminating any possible spill.
I used my 6x7 Medium Format system, with Ilford HP-5, setting my lens to F8 to get most of her face in focus.
