Hopefully Forrest can jump in and translate our exchanges between you and me, if he happens to have a spare moment,because I would to communicate to you what I meant in doing this shot. Please forgive me and forget I asked, if that is asking too much.

If I'm understanding you, you want to know if what is below the bulb is a magnifying glass. That is exactly what it is, a large magnifier even though it reminds me of a plano-convex lens element.

My other response to you is what I was thinking of when I came up with the ideas for the shot, the beauty and mystery of light refecting off and through geometrical forms made out of glass.

One of the objects is spherical, and the magnifier is a plano-convex form,so I think the appreciation of geometrical form is evident.
