真的不咋地

我看Consumer Report讲的。 越野性能好,据说还是Jeep。不过在美东,越野性能好象没什么用,国家公园,州公园那些荒郊野外的地方很少让车进,最多让你开到停车场(普通轿车或底盘高点的SUV就能开到),余下就得步行,理由是保护生态环境。

我老也得换美国SUV或卡车了。油贵也认了,我家闺女命更贵。 就是不知道换车后,我LP会不会反而掉以轻心,又去制造一起中年妇女开SUV撞别人的冤案。

这两天还在喊脖子疼。 出公司停车场,被一闯红灯的美国中年妇女从侧面撞的,也是一大SUV。据说撞车时中年妇女正回头喂后排的孩子。 这是他家近两年第三次车祸。 第一次,老婆怀孩子,他把小狗送到别人家去养。周末去看狗的时候思想开小差,撞上野狗。Honda Accord被撞坏得不轻。 第二次,老婆怀孩子有一阵了,内分泌原因吧,开车走神闯红灯,把别人撞了。自家的新MDX修了一万多。嗯,又是一例美国中年妇女开SUV撞别人。 这次是第三次,Accord可能得全报销了。哥们咬牙切齿地发誓,换车一定换大个的SUV! ...

Be careful, if you get caught: 1) You could lose your accumulated mileage points. For my UA account, I've $1000+ worth of points for now, so I won't risk it if I fly UA. 2) You could be charged penality through travel agency. This is consistent with what I've learnt from other sources before.

The ticket for Vancouver<->Beijing could be more expensive than Seatle<->Vancouver<->Beijing. This is based on certain pricing theory and well under practice in the industry for many years. Duke is now caught in the practice and that's exactly the point of such pricing design. So airlines won't easily negotiate alternatives with passengers otherwise it defeats their own pricing strategy.

As your final destination is not within Canada, you may not even go through Canadian immigration and get your luggage in Vancouver. You just stay in the holding/transition area and board the next plane and go through US immigration in Seattle. Moreover, if you paid your ticket with credit card, they have the right to charge penality on your card directly or through travel agency if you desert in Vancouver as you've breached the travel contract.
