是翻书夹书签美好还是书本身的内容美好？哪一个对你更重要呢？ 我上个月也琢磨要写个NIH的申请（就是那个ARRA），我的主意是研究为什么这么多校园、社会枪击案，和有没有policy可以帮助减少。我的同事说NIH不会感兴趣，因为NIH只感兴趣对那些真的疾病（比如癌症、艾滋等）有关系的东西。我就作罢了。但我觉得这也应该是NIH感兴趣的东西，精神疾病嘛，你说呢？

that can be simulated as well...I am positive about that. I can't help but wonder (for both qizi and fruit): where your utility of reading comes from. Is it from reading the contents or playing with the physical form of the book...

but you can't stop the train of history. Nobody can! :-) First, let me remind you that, about thousands years ago when paper was first introduced, there were people like you who thought it would never replace bamboo books because of "a kind of visceral experience" unparalleled by any paper books. But there were quickly forgotten by the history. Second, e-books are so superior a technology. It is lighter and more convenient (10 oz can hold thousands of books), cheaper ($9.99 or less a book)...
