There are another strong comparison here, the shadow vs. the bright. You picture does show both of Shadow & bright, but in a anrelated way. In addition, it seems to me that the two guys at left knew you were shotting at them, if that's the case, why don't you just tell them to move forward to the bright place under the sunshine. This will build more contrast, I believe.
